This Game was developed by Adepts of The Golden Dawn from the famed Enochian material of Dr John Dee (astrologer to Elizabeth 1st). The Boards are Flashing Tablets & Talismans, the pieces are Moveable Images of Gods and Goddesses. To become "More than Human" (to borrow words from McGregor Mathers) the Adept must first equilibrate their personality between the Elements in order to be then able to direct the forces of nature. Practice of Enochian Chess helps us ground the limitless light, Ain Soph Aur. And helps us to predict the future!
The Lesser Battle Formula (instructions are given in the Moina Mather’s document) is hugely important, and makes Enochian Chess massively more usable as a system. It is a mode of play designed to allowed uninitiated persons to play by using Enochian Chess as non-divination game, purely for strategy development, training or enjoyment. These Alpha Omega rules have been built into our PC software as an alternative to Divination mode. Moina Mather’s A.O. account differs slightly from the incomplete Israel Regardie accounts. It gives the full and correct names, and DICE throwing method. This Transverse Sephira approach is critical to Enochian Chess theory, and is included as an option in our 2007 software.
